01 Software License & Community Status
This document governs the usage of the "Zidro Solutions" Add-In for Autodesk® Inventor®. The Software is currently distributed as a free "Community Edition". It is inherently a work-in-progress and may contain bugs, errors, or inaccuracies. By deploying or executing the software, you acknowledge that your use is at your sole risk.
Critical security restriction: Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or attempting to bypass code obfuscation, licensing nodes, and security mechanisms of this Software is strictly prohibited. You may not redistribute, resell, or modify the software for commercial purposes without explicit written consent from the Publisher.
Future editions:The Publisher reserves the right to introduce paid editions (including but not limited to a "Professional Edition"), modify the feature set of the free Community Edition, or transition to a subscription-based licensing model at any time. Existing Community Edition users will be notified of any such changes via their registered email address. The Community Edition may continue to exist alongside paid tiers or may be discontinued at the Publisher's sole discretion.
02 CAD Data & Intellectual Property Protection
Critical notice on CAD telemetry
The Zidro Solutions software operates strictly on local execution threads. The Add-In does not collect, capture, mirror, transmit, or cache your 3D CAD models, part files (.ipt), assembly trees (.iam), drawing reference structures (.idw/.dwg), or proprietary project metadata. All engineering assets remain bound exclusively within your localized hardware or internal corporate server environment.
03 Collection of Personal Data & Legal Basis
Email address collection: To access the Community Edition download, users are required to provide a valid email address. This email is collected for the following purposes and under the following legal basis (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) — Consent):
- Delivery of the software: The email is used to verify the user's identity and deliver the download link via a one-time verification code (OTP).
- Product updates and version announcements: As a community member, you may receive communications regarding critical updates, security patches, new module releases, and information about upcoming product editions (including paid tiers).
- Community membership: By checking the consent box during download, you explicitly agree to join the Zidro Community and receive the communications described above.
All email communications are sent exclusively on the basis of your freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent as expressed through the checkbox on the download page. You may withdraw this consent at any time (see Section 06).
What we do NOT do with your email: Your email address is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with any third party for marketing purposes. We do not build advertising profiles, run targeted ads, or monetize your personal data in any form.
04 Electronic Communications & Marketing
By downloading the Software, you acknowledge and agree that the Publisher may send you the following types of electronic communications to your registered email address:
- Critical security updates and bug fix notifications
- New version and feature release announcements
- Information about new product editions, including paid Professional editions and their pricing
- Community surveys and feedback requests
- Changes to these Terms of Service or Privacy Policy
These communications are sent exclusively on the basis of the consent you provided when joining the Zidro Community (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). No communications will be sent without your prior explicit consent.
Right to unsubscribe: Every electronic communication includes a clear, functional unsubscribe mechanism. You may opt out of all non-essential communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly. Opting out will not affect your ability to use the installed Software.
05 Data Retention & Deletion
Your email address and associated consent record (timestamp, IP-derived country) are retained for the duration of your community membership. If you unsubscribe from all communications, your email will be moved to a suppression list (to prevent accidental re-enrollment) and all other personal data will be deleted within 30 days.
Anonymous telemetry data (which contains no personally identifiable information) is retained indefinitely for aggregate statistical analysis.
06 Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15): Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16): Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restriction (Art. 18): Request that we limit processing of your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20): Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)): Withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at: [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For users in Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzedu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, UODO).
07 Anonymous Telemetry & Usage Statistics
To help us improve the software, the Add-In securely transmits anonymous usage telemetry to our servers. This includes basic installation metrics, first launch events, update checks, and high-level interaction data (e.g., which automation modules are used). This telemetry is completely anonymous and contains absolutely no CAD data, geometry, user files, or proprietary engineering information.
The telemetry system collects: a randomly-generated installation identifier (UUID), the plugin version number, the type of event (first launch, heartbeat, module used), the module name (if applicable), and the operating system version. No IP addresses are stored permanently. No filenames, paths, or project data are ever transmitted.
Telemetry can be disabled at any time via the plugin Settings panel or by unchecking the telemetry option during installation.
Additionally, the software utilizes a fully localized file-based counter to track usage frequency. This counter operates entirely offline within your local environment and is used solely to occasionally prompt the User to leave a product review or feedback survey. No personal tracking or usage patterns are transmitted externally during this process.
08 Total Disclaimer of Liability
The software is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranties whatsoever, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The Publisher does not warrant that the operation of the Add-In will be error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Zidro Solutions shall not be liable for any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the use of the Software.
This total exclusion of liability includes, but is not limited to:
- Physical or Hardware Damage: System crashes, RAM overloads, hardware failure, or computer damage resulting from performance-intensive operations (e.g., Performance Analyzer).
- Manufacturing & Financial Loss: Wasted raw materials, ruined CNC/laser cutting operations, or procurement errors resulting from incorrectly generated DXF files, PDFs, or Excel BOMs.
- Project Corruption: Loss, corruption, or unrecoverable alteration of .ipt, .iam, or .idw/.dwg files during bulk replacement, automated drilling, or topological cleanup operations.
- Indirect or Consequential Damages: Lost profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss resulting from the use or inability to use the Software.
09 Engineer's Duty of Verification
Mandatory user responsibility
The Software is an automation tool designed to assist, not replace, professional engineering judgment. The user bears absolute and final responsibility for reviewing, verifying, and validating all output files (including but not limited to DXF flat patterns, generated 2D drawings, exported Bill of Materials, and mass-replaced components) before submitting them to production, procurement, or clients.
10 Trademarks & Third-Party Software
Autodesk, the Autodesk logo, and Autodesk Inventor are registered trademarks or trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. Zidro Solutions is an independent third-party add-in and is not authorized, endorsed, sponsored, or officially affiliated with Autodesk, Inc.
This Software utilizes external open-source libraries provided under the MIT License, including ClosedXML, DocumentFormat.OpenXml, ExcelNumberFormat, PdfSharp, SixLabors.Fonts, RBush, and Microsoft.Extensions. The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
